What we collect
We may process an adult’s account and contact details, the child’s first name or nickname and age, story details you provide, optional reference photos, generated illustrations, order details, and basic technical information needed to operate and protect the service. Children do not create accounts or submit information directly.
How photos are used
A reference photo is optional. When supplied, it is stored in private storage and made available through short-lived secure links while the illustrated character is created. For one-off books, the original is scheduled for deletion after the character reference has been derived. If you explicitly save a character to your family library, Just Mine keeps the derived illustration and any profile details you choose to retain; we do not need to retain the original photo for future books.
AI processing
Story details and reference images may be sent to contracted model providers to generate text and artwork. Just Mine does not train its own models on children’s photos. Provider processing is governed by the provider configuration and contractual terms in effect for our account. Generated results can be imperfect, so an adult should review every book before sharing it with a child.
Why we use the information
We use it to create previews, complete purchases, deliver digital or printed products, preserve a family library when requested, prevent abuse, support customers, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell children’s personal information or use child profiles for behavioral advertising.
Product analytics
We use PostHog’s EU service to understand broad steps such as which story path adults choose, whether a preview is completed, and whether checkout succeeds. We do not attach names, photos, story text, email addresses, or payment details to analytics events. Automatic click tracking is disabled, browser “Do Not Track” is respected, and analytics does not create durable browser profiles. Session replay is enabled for troubleshooting with PostHog’s total-privacy setting, which masks all text, inputs, and images before a recording is sent.
Sharing and retention
We share data only with service providers needed for generation, hosting, payments, email delivery, and print fulfillment when enabled. A book is private to its owner or unguessable guest-access link. Owners can deliberately create a separate read-only sharing link. We retain purchased books and saved family characters until the account owner deletes them or asks us to do so, subject to transaction and legal-record requirements.
Your choices
You can omit photos, avoid saving a character, edit or remove a family profile, and request access to or deletion of your data. Deleting a profile removes its private source image; completed books and purchase records are handled separately so an order can still be fulfilled.
